Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup: The brush is ready for use directly from its packaging. Ensure it is clean and dry before its first application.
Compatibility: This brush is specifically recommended for oil-based wood finishes, hard wax oils, and oil-based paints. It is not recommended for water-based stains or lacquers, as the solvents in these products may damage the bristles or result in poor application.
Care: Proper cleaning is crucial for the longevity and performance of the brush.
- Immediately after use, remove as much excess product as possible by wiping the bristles on a clean rag.
- Clean the bristles thoroughly using a suitable solvent. For oil-based finishes, mineral spirits or turpentine are generally effective. Work the solvent through the bristles gently.
- Rinse the brush under running water until all solvent residue is gone.
- Reshape the bristles to their original form while the brush is still wet.
- Hang the brush to dry with the bristles facing downwards, or lay it flat. Avoid standing it on its bristles.
- Store the brush in a clean, dry place once fully dry.
