Product Information

Full details

The WORKPRO Folding Utility Knife is designed for DIY enthusiasts and professionals who require a reliable, portable cutting tool for tasks ranging from cardboard processing to drywall trimming. Its standout benefit is the one-handed slide-lock mechanism combined with a tool-free blade change system, providing both safety and efficiency on the job. A potential caveat for some users is that while the compact, lightweight design is ideal for portability, those with larger hands may find the handle length slightly restrictive during heavy-duty, extended use.

Does it come with extra blades?

Yes, the package includes 10 high-performance SK5 replacement blades.

Is this tool suitable for heavy-duty construction use?

It is excellent for general cutting tasks like drywall and carpet, though it is intended for cutting rather than prying or heavy demolition.

How do I ensure the blade is locked safely?

When extending the blade, push until you hear a clear audible click indicating that the slide-lock has engaged.

What material is the body made of?

The body is constructed from durable materials designed to balance lightweight portability with long-term structural integrity.

Troubleshooting

Blade feels loose during use

Ensure the blade is fully inserted and the locking mechanism has clicked into the secure position.

Slide-lock mechanism is stiff

Check the track for debris or dried adhesive buildup and clean with a dry cloth or compressed air.

Blade does not eject

Ensure the release button is fully depressed and that there is no jammed material blocking the internal spring mechanism.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Tool-less blade replacement saves time and eliminates the need for extra equipment.
Compact and lightweight frame improves EDC (Every Day Carry) convenience.
Robust SK5 blades provide excellent longevity and sharpness.
Reliable slide-lock mechanism enhances user safety during operation.

Cons

Compact handle size may be less ergonomic for users with very large hands.
Lack of integrated blade storage inside the handle means extra blades must be carried separately.
Lightweight aluminum/plastic build may not suit heavy-duty industrial prying tasks.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This utility knife arrives ready to use out of the box with one blade pre-installed. To change the blade, engage the quick-release button to slide out the dull blade and insert a fresh one until it clicks into place. The knife is compatible with standard utility blades, providing flexibility for future replacements. To maintain the tool, keep the blade housing free of debris by blowing out dust occasionally. Wipe the exterior with a dry cloth after use to prevent moisture buildup, especially if the tool has been used to cut materials that might harbor corrosive substances or adhesives.
