Sealey Butane Heating/Soldering Torch Kit 8pc - AK2946

The Sealey AK2946 uses standard butane lighter fuel.

Run time varies significantly based on the heat setting and continuous usage. A full tank typically provides several minutes of continuous operation at medium heat.

This torch is designed for heating and soldering up to 450°C. For brazing, which requires significantly higher temperatures, a different type of torch would be necessary.

While the tip is warm (but not hot), use a damp sponge from the included cleaning tray. For stubborn residue, gently use a brass brush after cooling.

The flameless adaptor diffuses the flame, providing a concentrated stream of hot air instead of an open flame. This is useful for heat-shrinking tubing or activating adhesives without direct flame exposure.

The included solder is typically for general-purpose use. For specific applications like electronics, lead-free solder or specific alloys might be recommended.

Check if the butane tank is empty and refill if necessary. Ensure the gas control knob is slightly open. Clean the ignition mechanism if obstructed.

Refill the butane tank. Adjust the gas control knob to increase fuel flow. Clean the nozzle for any blockages.

Ensure the correct tip is securely attached. Check that the unit is ignited and the gas flow is adequate. Clean the tip to remove oxidation or residue.

Immediately turn off the gas control and stop use. Check all connections, especially around the refill valve and nozzle. Do not use if a leak is detected.
