Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: As an automatic watch, the Certina DS Action Day-Date Powermatic 80 is primarily powered by the motion of your wrist. To set the time, gently pull the crown to the first or second position (depending on your model) and rotate. To set the day and date, typically, you will need to advance the time past midnight until the day and date change, then set the correct time. Consult your specific model's manual for precise crown operation.
Compatibility: This watch is designed as a standalone mechanical timepiece and does not require electronic compatibility with other devices. It is compatible with various strap materials, though it typically comes with a stainless steel bracelet.
Care: To maintain its performance and appearance:
- Cleaning: Wipe the case and crystal regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Water Resistance: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in or screwed down before exposure to water. Have the water resistance checked periodically, especially after any servicing or impact.
- Winding: If the watch is not worn daily, it may stop. You can manually wind it by gently rotating the crown clockwise (usually 20-30 full turns) while it's in the closed position until you feel slight resistance. Alternatively, use a watch winder.
- Servicing: Automatic watches benefit from professional servicing every 3-5 years to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the movement.
