FAQs

Should I use water or sand?

Sand provides significantly more weight and stability than water, making it the preferred choice for wind-prone locations.

Does it fit all parasols?

It is designed for standard poles measuring between 38mm and 48mm in diameter.

Can I leave it outside in winter?

It is best to empty and store the base during the winter to prolong the life of the plastic material.

How do I move the base?

Tilt the unit slightly so the weight shifts onto the integrated wheels, then pull or push it to your desired location.

Can I use it as a planter?

Yes, the design allows the top surface to be used for decorative plants or as a small side table.

Troubleshooting

Umbrella feels wobbly inside the base

Ensure the tension knob on the side of the pole insert is tightened fully and verify the pole diameter is between 38-48mm.

Base is difficult to roll

Clear any debris or gravel from the path of the wheels and ensure the base is being tilted at the correct angle to engage the rollers.

Leaking from the fill port

Check that the cap is threaded correctly and screwed on tightly; if the seal is damaged, ensure no debris is stuck in the threads.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Easy to move with integrated wheels
Versatile design acts as a side table or planter
Adjustable weight capacity based on filling material
Accommodates a wide range of pole sizes

Cons

Requires manual filling with sand or water
Wheels may struggle on uneven grass or gravel
Heavier when full, making it difficult to lift if needed

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the base, ensure it is placed on a level surface before filling it with water or sand through the designated inlet. For maximum security, use sand, as it is denser than water. To maintain the product, wipe the plastic casing with a damp cloth and mild soap periodically to remove dirt or bird droppings. During the winter months, it is recommended to empty the base, dry it thoroughly, and store it in a shed or garage to prevent freezing damage or plastic degradation.
