The SRAM Eagle X-SYNC Direct Mount Chainring is designed for mountain bikers seeking a high-performance 12-speed drivetrain upgrade that prioritizes chain security and longevity. By utilizing a specialized positive-rake tooth profile, it significantly improves chain retention and reduces drivetrain friction; however, users must verify their frame's offset requirement (3mm for Boost spacing) to ensure proper chain alignment before installation.

No, the X-SYNC 2 tooth profile is specifically optimized for the tighter tolerances of the SRAM Eagle 12-speed chain.
A 3mm offset is for Boost frames (148mm spacing), while a 6mm offset is typically for non-Boost or traditional mountain bike frames.
Most direct-mount chainrings utilize the crank-specific lockring or 3-bolt system; check your existing crankset for the necessary hardware.
For optimal performance, it is highly recommended to use this with a genuine SRAM Eagle 12-speed chain to ensure the tooth-to-link interface functions correctly.
The X-SYNC 2 design provides better chain retention, significantly better mud clearance, and longer component life compared to the original X-SYNC design.
Check chain wear with a gauge; if the chain is worn beyond 0.75%, replace it, as a worn chain will damage the new ring teeth.
Verify that your rear derailleur clutch is engaged and that the B-tension screw is adjusted to the manufacturer's specification for the Eagle system.
To install this chainring, you will require a standard SRAM direct-mount tool to secure the ring to your crankset. Always verify that your crankset is compatible with the SRAM 3-bolt direct mount standard. Because this specific unit features a 3mm offset, it is intended for bikes using Boost axle spacing (148mm rear). Using this on a non-Boost frame will result in incorrect chain line alignment, leading to poor shifting performance and premature wear. To maintain peak performance, keep the chain well-lubricated and periodically inspect the tooth profile for signs of excessive wear or burring.
