The Hanicks UPM3 solar circulation pump is designed for professional installers and solar thermal system technicians who require a reliable, high-efficiency solution for fluid transport. Its primary benefit is the integrated speed control, which optimizes thermal transfer and reduces energy consumption, though users should note that the 130mm port-to-port dimension requires careful measurement during installation to ensure compatibility with existing pipework.

This model features a standard 130mm port-to-port length.
While designed for solar thermal applications, its speed-controlled nature is generally compatible with closed-loop heating systems, but please verify local regulations.
Standard units typically require a professional-grade electrical connection; consult the provided manual for wiring instructions.
The pump uses 1.5-inch threaded connections.
Yes, the Hanicks UPM3 is designed to meet ErP efficiency standards.
Speed settings can be adjusted via the integrated interface on the pump head as per the configuration instructions provided with the unit.
Check the system for airlocks and bleed the system at the highest point to ensure the pump is fully primed.
Ensure the pump is mounted securely and that the orientation is horizontal; check for potential debris in the impeller housing.
Verify the power supply and confirm the speed controller is set to a valid operational mode.
Installation should be performed by a qualified heating engineer to ensure the system is properly purged of air, as trapped air can lead to pump cavitation and premature wear. Ensure the 1.5-inch connections are tightened securely with appropriate sealing washers to prevent leaks. The pump should be mounted with the shaft in a horizontal position to maintain proper lubrication of the bearings. Periodic maintenance involves checking the system pressure and ensuring the pump housing remains free of external debris. It is recommended to flush the system according to the solar fluid manufacturer's specifications to prevent sludge buildup that could impede pump efficiency.
