Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installing the Microconnect CAT6A cable is straightforward as it utilizes standard RJ45 male connectors. To set up, simply insert the connector into the port until you hear a click. To remove, depress the protective latch hood and pull gently.
Compatibility: This cable is backward compatible with Cat6 and Cat5e infrastructure, though 10Gbit performance requires all components in the chain to be Cat6A compliant.
Care Instructions:
- Avoid bending the cable at sharp angles, as this can degrade the internal twist rate and affect performance.
- Do not exceed the minimum bend radius (typically 4x the outer diameter of 5mm).
- Keep the connectors free of dust and debris; if a connection becomes intermittent, clean the gold-plated contacts with a non-conductive electronics cleaner.
