Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Planting: Choose a location with partial shade and well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball.
- Soil: The Acer Seiryu can tolerate most soil types, so long as the planting area is moist, but well-drained. Amend heavy clay soils with organic matter.
- Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
- Sunlight: Avoid prolonged exposure to full sun, which can damage the plant. Provide some shelter or filtered sunlight.
- Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer.
- Pruning: Prune lightly in late winter or early spring to remove dead or crossing branches. Avoid heavy pruning.
