Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup is minimal; the file typically comes ready to use out of the package. To maintain the tool, keep the blade clean of sawdust by tapping it against a surface or using a stiff-bristled brush.
Blade Replacement Steps:
- Locate the tension screw or locking mechanism at the tip of the tool.
- Loosen the mechanism to release the old blade.
- Slide the new blade into the designated slots.
- Tighten the mechanism until the blade is firmly secured and free of any bowing or rattling.
Keep the tool in a dry place to prevent rust on the metal components, and store it blade-down or hanging on a hook to protect the cutting edge.
