Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Preparation: Before first use, shake the bottle gently to ensure the paint consistency is uniform.
- Opening: Carefully twist the cap to open. If the nozzle is sealed, use a small pin to puncture it.
- Palette: Squeeze a small amount of paint onto a palette (plastic, ceramic, or a dedicated 'stay-wet' palette are good choices).
Compatibility
Art Studio Acrylic Paints are highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of surfaces, including:
- Canvas: Traditional stretched canvas or canvas boards.
- Paper: Thick art paper, watercolor paper, or cardstock.
- Wood: Unfinished or primed wood surfaces for crafts and decor.
- Ceramic/Clay: Bisque-fired ceramic or air-dry clay (ensure proper sealing afterward).
- Fabric: Suitable for fabric painting, but heat-setting or a fabric medium may be required for washability (check specific medium instructions).
They can generally be mixed with other acrylic paints and acrylic mediums to alter consistency, drying time, or finish.
Care and Storage
- Brush Care: Always clean brushes immediately after use with warm water and mild soap. Reshape bristles and allow them to air dry.
- Paint Storage: Store paint bottles upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure caps are tightly sealed to prevent drying out. If paint becomes slightly thick, a few drops of water can often restore consistency.
- Spills: Clean up spills promptly with water before the paint dries.
