Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The brushes are ready to use straight out of the packaging. For the first use, it is recommended to gently flex the bristles to remove any loose filament. Ensure the ferrule is clean before dipping into paint.
Compatibility: This set is designed for use with all types of paint, including water-based (emulsion, latex, acrylic) and oil-based (alkyd, enamel) paints. It's also suitable for varnishes and stains.
Care: Proper cleaning is crucial for maintaining the performance and longevity of synthetic brushes.
- Water-Based Paints: Immediately after use, clean the brushes thoroughly with warm water and soap. Rinse until the water runs clear and gently squeeze out excess water.
- Oil-Based Paints/Varnishes: Use the appropriate mineral spirits or solvent recommended for the paint type. Brush cleaner can also be used. Swish the brush in the solvent, rinse, and repeat until all paint residue is removed. Follow up with soap and water.
- Drying: Reshape the bristles to their original form. Hang the brushes to dry or lay them flat, ensuring the bristles are not pressed against a surface. Avoid drying in direct heat or sunlight.
- Storage: Once completely dry, store the brushes bristle-up in a container or hang them to prevent damage to the filament.
