The Scheppach HM140L 12-inch sliding mitre saw is designed for professional contractors and serious DIY enthusiasts who require high-capacity cutting for renovations and workshop projects. Its standout benefit is the massive 330mm cross-cut capacity enabled by the sliding arm, providing exceptional versatility for wide timber and construction materials, though users should be aware that its robust size and 2000W motor requirement make it a heavier unit less suited for highly mobile, small-space work environments.

The saw features a sliding function that allows for a maximum cross-cut width of 330mm.
Yes, the HM140L is suitable for cutting both timber and plastic profiles when using the appropriate blade.
The integrated laser is typically powered through the saw's main electrical connection for consistent operation.
Yes, a secure material clamp is included to hold workpieces firmly against the fence during the cutting process.
The machine uses a 305mm (12-inch) carbide-tipped blade.
Yes, the double bevel system allows you to tilt the head to the left and right for versatile angled cutting.
Adjust the laser calibration screws found on the laser housing to realign the beam with the blade edge.
Clean the rails with a dry cloth and apply a light, non-greasy dry lubricant if necessary.
The blade may be dull or have resin buildup; clean the blade or replace it with a new high-tooth count blade for finer cuts.
To ensure optimal performance, place the HM140L on a stable, flat workbench or dedicated mitre saw stand. Before first use, verify the alignment of the laser guide against a test scrap piece to confirm the beam corresponds exactly to the blade path. When managing larger pieces, utilize the side supports and the included material clamp to prevent workpiece movement during the cut. To maintain the tool, regularly remove sawdust from the slide rails to ensure smooth movement, and check the carbide-tipped blade for resin buildup. Using a resin cleaner periodically will prevent overheating during prolonged cutting sessions.
