Full details

The vidaXL Privacy Net is an ideal solution for homeowners and apartment dwellers looking to enhance seclusion in their outdoor spaces, such as gardens, balconies, or patios. Constructed from durable, breathable HDPE fabric, it offers a perfect balance between shade and airflow, effectively blocking prying eyes while remaining resistant to mould and UV radiation. While the material is highly versatile and customizable, users should note that the necessary mounting hooks are not included in the package and must be purchased separately to complete the installation.

FAQs

Can I cut this privacy net to size?

Yes, the HDPE material is designed to be easily cut with scissors to fit your specific requirements.

Are the installation hooks included?

No, the hooks are not included. You will need to purchase compatible mounting hardware separately.

Is the material waterproof?

The net is mould-proof and UV-proof, but it is porous to allow for airflow, so it is not intended to function as a waterproof canopy.

How do I clean the net?

The material is very low maintenance; you can generally clean it by spraying it down with water from a garden hose.

Does the net block the wind completely?

No, the breathable structure is designed to let air through while providing visual privacy, which prevents the net from acting like a sail in high winds.

Troubleshooting

The net is sagging after installation

Ensure you are using an adequate number of mounting hooks or ties spaced evenly along the entire length to distribute the tension.

Creases are visible from the packaging

Once installed and pulled tight, the creases will naturally fade as the fabric is exposed to outdoor temperatures and sunlight.

The fabric frayed after cutting

Use a sharp pair of heavy-duty scissors for a clean cut, and consider folding the edge over once before securing it if you require extra reinforcement.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Resistant to mould and UV damage
  • Breathable fabric keeps areas cool
  • Easy to cut to custom sizes
  • Provides effective privacy for outdoor areas

Cons

  • Mounting hooks are not included
  • May arrive folded in half, requiring a brief period to flatten
  • Requires additional hardware for proper installation

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation requires you to source appropriate hooks or cable ties, as these are not included with the product. When planning your purchase, ensure you measure the total area you wish to cover and account for the length of the hardware you intend to use. Because the product is packaged folded, it is recommended to stretch the material taut during the initial installation to remove any remaining folds. For care, the HDPE material is low-maintenance; simply hose it down with clean water if dust or debris accumulates. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as they are unnecessary and may degrade the UV-resistant properties of the fabric.
