Product Information

Full details

Zitac Vet tablets are intended for dog owners managing chronic gastritis under veterinary guidance. The primary benefit of these tablets is the effective reduction of vomiting associated with chronic inflammatory conditions of the stomach, helping to restore your dog's gastrointestinal comfort. A significant caveat is that this medication must be prescribed and monitored by a veterinarian, as it targets symptomatic relief for specific medical conditions rather than general digestive upset.

FAQs

Can I use Zitac Vet for occasional vomiting?

No. Zitac Vet is specifically indicated for chronic gastritis. Occasional vomiting can be caused by many different factors and should be evaluated by a veterinarian.

How long will my dog need to stay on this medication?

The duration of treatment is determined solely by your veterinarian based on the dog's response and the underlying severity of the gastritis.

Are there common side effects?

While generally well-tolerated, side effects can occur. Consult your veterinarian for a complete list of potential reactions relevant to your dog's health profile.

Can this be given with other medications?

Cimetidine can interact with several drugs. Always provide your vet with a full list of your pet's current medications before starting Zitac Vet.

Is Zitac Vet safe for puppies?

The use of this medication in puppies should be strictly decided by a veterinarian based on the individual clinical presentation.

Troubleshooting

The dog refuses to take the tablet.

Try hiding the tablet inside a small piece of pill-pocket treat or a small amount of wet food, provided it does not conflict with any dietary restrictions set by your vet.

Vomiting persists despite treatment.

Contact your veterinarian immediately. The dosage may need adjustment, or the underlying cause may require further investigation.

Missed a dose.

Give the dose as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose. Never give a double dose to make up for a missed one.
