The Growpot Tomato Growing Pot is an ideal solution for home gardeners looking to maximize their harvest of tomatoes, chillies, peppers, and aubergines. FAQs

Can I use these for vegetables other than tomatoes?

Yes, they are highly effective for chillies, aubergines, and peppers.

How much water does the trough hold?

The outer trough is designed to hold exactly four pints of liquid.

Do I need to bury the pot in the ground?

No, it can be used on the surface of grow bags, pots, or garden soil.

How do I clean the Growpot between seasons?

Rinse with a mild soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly before storage.

Are these pots frost-resistant?

While they are durable, it is recommended to store them indoors or in a shed during winter to prolong their life.

Does it prevent all pests?

It acts as a strong physical barrier against slugs but is not a substitute for general pest management.

Troubleshooting

Water in the trough drains too quickly

Ensure the plant is fully established within the inner chamber and that the soil is not overly loose or sandy.

Plant growth appears stunted

Check that the inner chamber has contact with the root zone and ensure you are using appropriate liquid feed in the water trough.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Promotes significantly higher yields through focused root health
Effective at maintaining consistent soil moisture levels
Protects plants from common pests like slugs
Reusable, weather-resistant material for long-term value

Cons

Requires manual refilling of the four-pint trough regularly
Larger footprint compared to standard pots may limit density in small spaces
Not suitable for very large shrubs or trees

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up, simply position the Growpot over your planting medium. If using a grow bag, place the unit directly on the soil surface after the plant is established. For pots, ensure the planter is centered to allow the inner chamber to interact with the soil correctly. Maintenance is minimal: simply rinse the pots with warm water at the end of the season to remove soil debris. Store them in a dry, shaded area during the winter months to maintain the integrity of the material.
