The wire is made of galvanized steel, featuring a high zinc coating for corrosion resistance.

How much total length does this product provide?

The product provides a total coverage length of 246 feet (75 meters) across 5 individual rolls.

What are the dimensions of each coil?

The coil diameter is 19 inches (482.6 mm).

Is this product suitable for residential gardens?

While it can be used for gardens, extreme caution is advised due to the sharp nature of the wire. It is most suitable where a high level of security is paramount and potential hazards are carefully managed.

What safety precautions should I take during installation?

Always wear heavy-duty gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing. Handle the wire with extreme care to avoid any contact with skin or clothing.

Can this razor wire be easily cut or bypassed?

The sharp blades and dense coiling make it very difficult and time-consuming to cut or bypass without specialized tools and significant risk of injury.

What is the weight of the product?

The total product weight is 38.60 lb (17.5 kg).

Troubleshooting

Wire is difficult to uncoil or tangles easily.

Handle with extreme care. Gently ease the wire off the spool. If tangled, carefully untangle with gloved hands, avoiding sharp edges.

Difficulty in achieving proper tension.

Ensure anchor posts are deeply set and stable. Use a ratchet tensioner specifically designed for fencing to achieve optimal tautness.

Rust or corrosion appearing prematurely.

While galvanized, extreme environmental conditions can accelerate wear. Ensure proper installation without damaging the zinc coating. If minor rust appears, it may not affect integrity but can be treated with appropriate metal protectants.

Installation is too slow or labor-intensive.

This is typical for razor wire installation. Consider using more than one person for the process. Pre-planning the layout and having all tools ready can improve efficiency.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Setup:

  1. Safety First: Always wear heavy-duty gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing. Handle the wire carefully to avoid cuts.
  2. Anchoring: Securely anchor the starting and ending points of the wire using sturdy posts (e.g., metal or treated wood) and appropriate tensioning hardware.
  3. Installation: Uncoil the razor wire and attach it to the anchor points. Stretch the wire between posts, ensuring it is taut. Multiple strands can be installed vertically or horizontally to increase density.
  4. Securing Rolls: Connect subsequent rolls to extend the barrier, ensuring a continuous and secure line.

Compatibility:

  • Compatible with standard fence posts and tensioning systems designed for barbed or razor wire.
  • Requires robust support structures due to the tension and weight of the material.

Care:

  • Inspect periodically for any signs of damage or corrosion, especially if installed in highly corrosive environments.
  • Minimal maintenance is required due to the galvanized coating, but occasional checks for tension and integrity are recommended.
