The grout or mortar should be mixed to a workable, paste-like consistency. It should be thick enough to hold its shape but pliable enough to be squeezed through the nozzle without excessive force. Avoid mixes that are too wet or too dry.

After emptying the bag, use a small brush or a stiff wire to clear any residue from the nozzle opening. Rinse thoroughly with water and check again for any blockages before the material dries.

While it can dispense some thicker mixtures, it is primarily designed for grout and mortar. For large-scale rendering, specialized tools might be more efficient.

The ease of squeezing depends on the consistency of the material and the pressure applied. With correctly mixed grout and a clean nozzle, it should be manageable with steady pressure.

Check that the nozzle is not clogged. Clean it thoroughly. Ensure the grout/mortar consistency is correct – not too stiff. Ensure the bag is filled sufficiently and the top is sealed to create pressure.

Practice applying consistent pressure. Ensure the nozzle is held at an appropriate angle to the joint. Check that the material inside the bag is consistently mixed.

Ensure the top opening of the bag is securely sealed or folded over to prevent material escape during squeezing.
