The GIVI 1161KIT is an essential hardware solution for owners of the 2018-2019 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin and Africa Twin Adventure Sports who wish to install side case carriers without a rear top box rack. It provides the necessary structural mounting points to secure PLR1161 or PL1161CAM frames directly to the motorcycle chassis. While it offers a stable and secure fit for your luggage system, users should note that the side frames and the rear rack are sold separately, and this kit is specifically designed for scenarios where the SR1161 rear rack is absent.

You will need a basic set of metric hex keys (Allen wrenches) and standard wrenches for the fasteners provided.
Yes, the kit features a durable black powder-coat finish designed to withstand the elements and resist corrosion.
Do not fully tighten bolts until all attachment points are threaded; keep bolts slightly loose to allow for frame adjustment.
Verify that all spacers are positioned correctly and re-torque all bolts to the manufacturer's recommended specifications.
To install the 1161KIT, ensure your motorcycle is on a stable, flat surface. The kit utilizes existing bolt holes on the bike's rear subframe. Because this kit is designed for a specific configuration, ensure you are not attempting to mount the SR1161 rack simultaneously. For maintenance, periodically check all mounting bolts for tightness after the first 100 miles and subsequently at every service interval, as vibration can naturally loosen fasteners over time. Clean the powder-coated surfaces with a mild detergent and water to prevent surface oxidation.
