Full details

The Blackstar Polar 2 is a 2-channel USB audio interface designed specifically for guitarists, offering the ultimate recording guitar tone. It features two high-headroom FET input channels suitable for instruments, line, and microphones, along with a powerful headphone amp and +48V phantom power for condenser mics. The interface boasts balanced outputs for professional monitoring, visual level meters, and the proprietary "Enhance" switch. This "Enhance" feature is unique in its ability to mimic the input stage of a real valve amplifier, restoring the natural touch, feel, and response of playing through a tube amp, thus improving the sound of amp modeling plugins. It also prevents digital clipping, allowing users to drive the preamps like a real amp for easier level setting and smoother handling of dynamic guitar signals. The microphone preamps are inspired by renowned vintage studio preamps, delivering warm, rich tones, while the "Enhance" function on the mic input adds natural clarity and air to vocals and acoustic instruments. The Polar 2 comes bundled with a comprehensive software collection, including the St. James Plugin Suite, Ableton Live Lite, ReLab LX480 Essentials, and Melodyne Essential, providing a complete package for music production. Its innovative input stage offers 24V headroom, significantly more than many competitors, ensuring a superior signal foundation. Designed for ease of use, it allows for foolproof input level setting, enabling musicians to focus on their creativity. The interface is bus-powered via USB 2.0 and includes a +48V switch for microphones requiring phantom power.
