Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare Concrete Base: Ensure a solid, level concrete foundation is in place or is being poured.
- Position Base: Place the post support base onto the wet concrete, ensuring it is level and in the desired location.
- Secure: While the concrete is still wet, embed the base firmly. Alternatively, if using a pre-cast concrete footing, use appropriate concrete screws or anchors through the mounting holes to fix the base securely.
- Insert Post: Once the concrete has fully cured, slide the round wooden post into the base. Ensure a snug fit.
- Fasten Post: Secure the wooden post to the base using appropriate screws or bolts through the pre-drilled holes on the sides of the base, ensuring they penetrate the post sufficiently.
Compatibility:
- Compatible with round wooden posts.
- Designed for mounting onto concrete foundations.
- Suitable for use with standard exterior-grade screws and bolts (not included).
Care:
The hot-dip galvanized finish offers excellent maintenance-free protection. For cleaning, a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the zinc coating. If painting, ensure the surface is clean and dry, and use a primer specifically designed for galvanized surfaces before applying your chosen topcoat.
