Cat5e (Category 5e) is a standard for Ethernet cables that supports data transfer rates up to 1000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) and frequencies up to 100 MHz. It is an enhanced version of the older Cat5 standard.

SF/UTP (Shielded Foiled Unshielded Twisted Pair), also referred to as S/FTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair) in some contexts, means the cable has an overall foil shield around all the twisted pairs, and potentially individual foil shields around each pair (though the product description focuses on overall shielding). This helps protect the signal from external electromagnetic interference (EMI) and internal crosstalk.

CCA stands for Copper-Clad Aluminium. This means the aluminum core of the conductor is plated with a thin layer of copper. CCA cables are often less expensive than pure copper cables but offer lower conductivity and can be more prone to breakage.

The snagless boot covers the clip on the RJ-45 connector, preventing it from snagging on other cables, surfaces, or in tight spaces during installation or removal. This also helps protect the connector tab from breaking.

Ensure both ends of the cable are securely plugged into the correct ports. Try a different port on your network device. Test with another known working cable to rule out a cable fault.

Verify the cable is properly seated. Check that your network devices support Gigabit Ethernet. Ensure the cable is not damaged. For optimal performance, consider a Cat6 or higher cable if your network supports speeds beyond Gigabit Ethernet.

Inspect the cable for visible damage. Ensure the cable is not routed near sources of strong electromagnetic interference. Check the condition of the RJ-45 connectors for bent pins.
