It is ideal for DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and camcorders that have an unbalanced weight distribution due to larger lenses, external microphones, or extended battery packs. It provides the necessary surface area to achieve equilibrium.

The Manfrotto 504PLONG is supplied with 2x 1/4 Inch and 2x 3/8 Inch camera fixing screws, plus an adapter for 1/4" to 3/8" conversion, offering flexibility for different camera bodies.

This plate is designed to be compatible with Manfrotto tripod heads that feature the standard quick-release receiver system, often referred to as the RC system.

While you can use it with lighter cameras, the extended length might not be necessary and could potentially be more cumbersome than a standard plate. However, it will still function correctly if your lighter camera has an accessory that causes imbalance.
