The Freefoam 150mm Fascia Capping Board is designed for professional contractors and DIY enthusiasts looking to refurbish or protect timber rooflines. Its primary benefit is providing a low-maintenance, aesthetically pleasing rosewood finish that shields underlying wood from the elements. A key caveat is that this board is designed as a capping solution to be installed over a sound, existing timber backing board, rather than as a standalone structural fascia.

No, this is a 10mm capping board and must be installed over a supporting timber backing board.
You will need a saw to cut the boards to length, a hammer or nail gun, and the recommended 50mm Polytop nails.
UPVC is highly resistant to salt air and moisture, making it an excellent choice for coastal roofline maintenance.
Use a fine-toothed hand saw or a circular saw with a blade suitable for plastic to achieve a clean, smooth edge.
The material is designed to be UV-stable, though minor weathering over many years is normal for any exterior building product.
It is not recommended to paint these boards, as the woodgrain finish is designed to be a final, maintenance-free surface.
Check that the nailing interval does not exceed 400mm and ensure the board is fixed to a flat, level timber surface.
Use color-matched Polytop nails that blend with the rosewood finish to ensure they are inconspicuous.
Inspect the existing timber for obstructions, such as protruding old nails or uneven wood surfaces, and sand or remove as necessary before re-fixing.
Before starting your installation, ensure the existing timber is dry, level, and free from protruding debris. To secure the boards, it is recommended to use 2 x 50mm Polytop nails. These nails should be spaced at a maximum interval of 400mm along the length of the board to prevent bowing and ensure the board remains flush against the backing timber. Alignment is critical; ensure each length is square before fixing. For care, the UPVC material requires very little maintenance. Periodically wash the boards with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to remove dust and environmental grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or strong solvents that could damage the woodgrain finish.
