Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
To set up the BlueSpot sanding belts, ensure your belt sander is turned off and unplugged. Open the belt cover on your sander. Place the new 75 x 533mm sanding belt onto the drums, ensuring the arrow on the belt (if present) indicates the direction of rotation, which typically matches the direction of the sander's motor. Close the belt cover securely. Briefly run the sander to check belt tracking and adjust if necessary according to your tool's manual.
Compatibility:
These belts are specifically sized at 75 x 533mm and are designed for use with belt sanders that accept these dimensions. They are intended for use on wood surfaces. Always ensure your power tool is compatible with the abrasive type and grit. Check your tool's manual for specific recommendations.
Care:
Sanding belts are consumables and have a limited lifespan. To maximize their effectiveness, avoid overloading the sander, which can cause the grit to load up with dust and reduce efficiency. Periodically check the belt for signs of wear, such as glazing (shiny surface) or fraying edges. Store belts in a dry place away from moisture to prevent degradation of the adhesive and backing.
