To install, loosen the lever cap or thumb screw on your existing block plane and carefully remove the old blade. Slide the 60.1/2G iron into position, ensuring it aligns with the lateral adjustment lever. Tighten the assembly and verify the depth of cut on a piece of scrap wood before beginning your project.
Since this blade is made of carbon steel, it is susceptible to oxidation. Keep the iron protected by applying a thin coat of light machine oil or camellia oil if the tool will be stored in a humid environment. Always store your plane on its side or in a rack to prevent the blade edge from making contact with abrasive surfaces.
