This AIM Motorsport temperature sensor patch lead (MPN 712-719) is for kart racers using MyChron data loggers who need a reliable replacement or spare for their temperature sensors. This patch lead connects an AIM Motorsport temperature sensor to an AIM MyChron data logger, enabling the logger to record and display engine temperature data.
It is compatible with all AIM Motorsport MyChron kart dash/data loggers, including MyChron4, MyChron5, and MyChron6.
While the lead has standard connector types, it is designed and recommended for use with AIM Motorsport temperature sensors that have a compatible 4-pin female connector to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
If the patch lead shows signs of damage, it should be replaced immediately to prevent further damage to your sensor or logger and to ensure accurate data readings. It is recommended to have a spare on hand for quick replacement.
Gently wipe the connectors with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Avoid using any liquids or abrasive materials, as this could damage the contacts.
The product is built for motorsport environments, which can include dust and moisture, but it is not rated as fully waterproof. Avoid submerging it in water.
Check that both ends of the patch lead are securely connected to the temperature sensor and the MyChron logger. Ensure the temperature sensor itself is functioning correctly. Verify that the correct input channel is selected on the MyChron logger.
Inspect the patch lead for any visible damage, kinks, or frayed wires. Clean the connectors on both the lead and the sensor/logger. Test with a different, known-good temperature sensor or patch lead if possible.
Ensure there is no debris or damage to the connectors. Do not force the connection. Gently align the pins and sockets before attempting to connect.
