Setup, Compatibility & Care
When planting your Camellia Silver Anniversary, select a spot with partial shade or dappled sunlight. It thrives in acidic soil; if your soil is naturally alkaline, it is highly recommended to use a large container with high-quality ericaceous potting mix. Water the plant regularly during its first year to help it establish a strong root system. In hard water areas, consider collecting rainwater, as the minerals in tap water can negatively impact the plant's ability to absorb nutrients. Apply a mulch of bark or leaf mold around the base of the plant to keep the roots cool and retain moisture, but keep the mulch away from the main stem to prevent rotting.
