Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The gauge is ready to use out of the box. To set a measurement, loosen the knurled brass locking screw, slide the adjustable pin to the desired distance from the fixed pin, and then re-tighten the locking screw firmly. Ensure the pins are parallel to the main beam for accurate marking.
Compatibility: This gauge is suitable for use on all types of wood. It is designed for marking parallel lines at a set distance from an edge or from each other.
Care: To maintain the tool's performance and appearance:
- Wipe the rosewood body with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth after use. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Periodically apply a light coat of linseed oil or Danish oil to the rosewood to preserve its finish.
- Keep the marking pins sharp and clean. Remove any wood residue with a soft brush or cloth.
- Store the gauge in a dry place, ideally in its original packaging or a protective pouch, to prevent damage to the pins and inlays.
