The Prima Classic 15mm x 3/8 Mi Compression Adaptor is designed for professional plumbers and DIYers who require a secure, reliable connection between 15mm copper tubing and 3/8-inch threaded components in water or gas systems. This high-quality brass fitting provides a leak-resistant seal through a robust compression mechanism, ensuring compliance with strict safety standards. While it offers excellent durability and drinking water approval, users must ensure they have the correct sizing and appropriate wrenches to avoid overtightening the compression nut.

These compression fittings are designed for copper. If using with plastic pipe, you must insert an appropriate pipe stiffener/insert before tightening the compression nut.
Yes, Prima Classic brass fittings are suitable for use in both water and gas systems, including central heating loops.
The compression side seals via the olive, but the threaded 3/8 Mi side typically requires PTFE tape or a compatible sealant for a leak-proof connection.
It means the product has been tested and certified to be safe for contact with drinking water, ensuring it does not contaminate the supply.
Compression olives are designed to deform upon first tightening. It is standard plumbing best practice to replace the olive if the joint is dismantled.
Ensure the pipe is cut square and clean. Tighten the nut slightly more, but do not overtighten as this can deform the olive or crack the fitting.
Disconnect the joint, re-apply high-quality PTFE tape or appropriate pipe sealant to the male threads, and reconnect firmly.
To install, ensure the 15mm copper pipe is cut square and deburred to prevent damage to the olive. Slide the nut and olive onto the pipe, insert the pipe into the fitting body, and tighten the nut until firm; a further half-turn is usually sufficient to secure the seal. For the threaded 3/8 Mi side, use a matching female threaded fitting. Regarding care, these brass fittings are maintenance-free once installed, but should be checked periodically for signs of corrosion or leakage if the system experiences significant thermal cycling or vibration.
