Full details
The Shinto saw rasp and file is a unique Japanese tool with a blade made from strips of hacksaw-like material with teeth on both edges, arranged in a lattice pattern, welded and pinned to form a rigid blade. It is ideal for shaping all types of wood and is favored by woodturners and woodcarvers for its aggressive yet controllable cut. The rasp is double-sided, featuring coarse teeth on one face for rapid material removal and finer teeth on the opposite face for a smooth finish. Its open lattice design prevents clogging as waste material falls through. The SR30 model is a two-handed design for enhanced control and comfort. Changing the blade is simple: loosen the locking screw to release it, a process that takes only seconds. Unlike other Japanese saws, the Shinto saw rasp cuts on the push stroke. It is suitable for use with Soft Wood, Hard Wood, Plywood, Chipboard, MDF, Iron, Copper, Aluminium, Lead, Plasterboard, Soft stone, and Pastilina Clay.
