Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Installation is designed to be straightforward, requiring only basic tools such as a hacksaw for potential length adjustments, a measuring tape, and a drill for fixing points. Use the provided copper clips to securely fasten the downpipes to the exterior wall at appropriate intervals. Ensure proper alignment with the gutter outlet and any connecting shoe or bend at ground level.
Compatibility: These 80mm diameter copper downpipes are specifically designed to be compatible with Metal Gutta's standard 125mm x 76mm half-round gutter system. Ensure all connecting elements, such as outlets and shoes, match the 80mm diameter for a secure fit.
Care: Copper guttering requires minimal maintenance. Over time, it will naturally develop a patina, a protective layer that deepens its color. This is a natural characteristic and does not affect performance. To clean, simply use a damp cloth to wipe away any surface dirt or debris. Avoid using harsh abrasive cleaners that could damage the copper surface. Regular checks for any blockages from leaves or debris are recommended, especially in autumn.
