Brown compound, commonly known as Tripoli, is used in the first stage on non-ferrous metals like copper and brass. Its application with a stitched or loose-leaf mop depends on the piece's initial condition. This compound effectively removes minor imperfections, blemishes, and small scratches. Our compound bars are color-coded for easy identification, with each bar being a combination of a selected abrasive and a specific binder. Each color features two reference numbers: the first indicates the 'Cut' or abrasiveness level (higher number means coarser grit), and the second number relates to 'Colour' or sheen (higher number means shinier and glossier result). Specifically, the Brown compound has a Cut of 7 and a Colour of 7. The bar size is 100 x 35 x 20mm, with a weight of 100g.
