This sensor is primarily designed for pots and planters. While it can be used in sheltered outdoor containers, it is not recommended for open garden beds where it may be exposed to excessive moisture or weather.

The Mayhem LED Moisture Sensor uses a solid green light for adequate moisture and a solid red light for dryness. Flashing lights are not a standard function of this model.

Insert the probe deep enough to reach the main root zone. For the standard 20cm model, this typically means inserting it about 15-18cm deep. For the 30cm model, aim for 25-28cm.

Ensure a new AAA battery is inserted correctly, observing the polarity (+/-). Check if the battery is depleted. Clean the battery contacts if they appear corroded.

Ensure the probe is inserted deeply enough to reach moist soil. Wait a few minutes for the moisture to distribute. If the issue persists, the probe may be damaged or the battery is low.

Verify the probe is making good contact with the soil. Try repositioning the sensor. The battery might be low, causing an inaccurate reading.

Check for loose soil or air pockets around the probe. Ensure the probe is clean. Low battery power can also cause erratic behavior.
