Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
To start your Seiko 5 automatic watch, gently shake it back and forth for about 30 seconds to wind the mainspring. You can then set the time and day/date by pulling the crown to the appropriate positions. Refer to the specific crown functions for your model (usually 1st click for day/date, 2nd click for time).
Compatibility:
This watch is a standalone timepiece and does not require compatibility with other devices. The stainless steel bracelet is designed to fit most standard wrist sizes, though adjustments may be needed.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth, ensuring no moisture enters the watch. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Winding: If the watch is stopped, wind it by shaking for 30 seconds or manually winding the crown if your model supports it.
- Water Resistance: Avoid exposing the watch to water beyond its 30m rating. Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet.
- Service: Automatic watches benefit from periodic servicing (typically every 2-4 years) by a qualified watchmaker to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
