Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These tin snips are ready for immediate use upon arrival. The screw joint is factory-adjusted for optimal performance. If necessary, the screw can be re-adjusted using an appropriate tool to maintain optimal cutting tension.
Compatibility: Compatible with common sheet metals up to a thickness of 1.8mm. Not recommended for use on plastics, wires, or materials other than specified sheet metal.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe the cutting edges and scissor head with a clean, dry cloth to remove any metal debris or residue.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a light machine oil to the screw joint and pivot point to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion.
- Storage: Store the snips in a dry environment, preferably with the blades closed and protected, to prevent rust and damage.
- Sharpening: If cutting performance diminishes, the hardened cutting edges may require professional sharpening. Do not attempt to sharpen them with standard sharpening tools, as this can damage the hardness.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the handles for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure the screw joint remains tight.
